Arrested, Dealer with 2 Kg of Ya – Ice and 2 Weapons

Banglamung Police, arrested a Ya - Ice Agent, delivering 2 Kg of the illegal drug, during Songkran Days. Police seized almost 2 kg of the drug, worth approximately 5 million THB, the suspect also had a hand gun in his possession.

PATTAYA – April 18, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 11.00 a.m. Pol. Lt. Gen. Panya Mamen, Commissioner Section 2, Pol. Maj. Gen. Jamnong Rattanakul, Commissioner Chonburi Province, Pol. Col. Somneuk Jankate, Superintendent, Banglamung Police Station, Pol. Lt. Col. Suppachat Peammanus, Deputy Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Col. Jakkarin Tuasuphap, Deputy Superintendent, with a Police Team reported that they had arrested Mr. Vitchanart or Pan Sirichaolert, 28 years of age28, residing at 358/85 Moo 9 Tambon Nongprue, Amphur Banglamung, he had Ya-Ice in his possession weighing 1.7 kg, a 9mm hand gun, 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a rifle with 5 rounds of ammunition and a white Honda Jazz car, license number SOR NOR 9099 Bangkok.

 

The Police Team of Banglamung Police Station, was informed that an Ya-Ice agent was going to make a delivery at the Soi beside Heaven, Central Pattaya. The Police had the area under surveillance, when Mr.Vitchanart drove the Honda Jazz to pick up Ya-Ice from one agent and drove back to the room number 358/85 Soi Chalermphrakeat 13 (Bua Khao) Moo 9 Tambon Nongprue, so the police followed him and arrested him. The car was searched and the Police discovered Ya-Ice, hidden in a Chinese tea bag, weight of 1 kg, which was hidden under the passenger front seat. The Police then searched his room and located and seized Ya-Ice weighing 0.7 g and 2 weapons, totaling more than 5 million THB.

 

Upon questioning Mr. Vitchanart confessed that there was a prisoner in Rayong Prison, who had telephoned him and told him to pick up the Ya-Ice from an agent at the Soi beside Heaven and to divide it up and to sell the drugs to customers in Pattaya. He used the Songkran Days to deliver the Ya-Ice because most of the police would be too busy dealing with the tourists.

At the same time that the Police searched the car of Mr. Vitchanart, they observed Mr. Aekkaphong or Aek Boontha, 30 years of age, stood with approximately 30, people of Amphur Khunyuan, Mae Hongsorn Province, standing to see what was going on and he looked suspicious, the police asked to search him and they discovered on his person a 38 caliber hand gun, with 9 rounds of ammunition. Mr. Aekkaphong stated that the gun had a registered license and he took it to protect himself. The Police arrested him for of taking gun weapon to public place without permission and will prosecute him according to Thai Law.
