Pattaya police nabbed an unemployed man who stole a lot of office equipment, worth about two hundred thousand baht, from a law office.

On 4 October 2007, at 3 PM, Deputy Superintendent Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai Kru-prasertwatana and Police Major Chaigrit Tong-In executed a search warrant 518/2550, from Pattaya City Court, dated 4 October 2007 and arrested Mr. Thanatham-chokechai, nickname “Uen” (30). Mr. Sonsab was accused of stealing much office equipment from Saturday Night Accounting Company, a law firm located at 315/129-130 Moo12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. Miss Sawaros Namwongsamran (34), owner of the firm, had notified the police of the theft, which occurred on 28 September 2007. She said that the stolen items were worth about two hundred thousand baht.
Police searched Mr. Somsab’s bedroom and found four sets of computers with LCD screens, four printers, one copy machine, one scanner and much other office equipment.; altogether worth about two hundred thousand baht.

Mr. Somsab confessed that he was, formerly, employed at Theprasit Law Office, near the scene of the theft. He had been fired, recently, and was unemployed for several months. On the night of 28 September, he drove around in a golden, bronze Honda City automobile, license 8583, Chaiyaphum, to scout out a good location to pull a heist.

The Saturday Night Accounting Office was isolated and dark on a Saturday night. Mr. Somsab used a screwdriver to force open the door and stole many pieces of equipment, which he put into his car, before driving away. He sold some of the contraband to pawn shops or second hand shops in order to obtain money to pay off his football gambling debts. Police will ask the owner to identify the stolen items. Mr. Somsab was taken to the police station for processing. He will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
