BANGLAMUNG – February 19, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; the arrests of two meth dealers was announced by the Special Suppression Police forces of Huay Yai, Banglamung, Chonburi. The suspects were identified as Mr. Samruay Malipan, and Mr. Atit Siangsanor, both age 29.

Police seized the evidence of 60 tablets of meth, a .32 caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and their ammunition of 32 bullets for the two guns. The suspects’ car, a red Honda City, was also seized.

Police were led to the dealers after they had previously arrested a number of amphetamine addicts. One of them confessed that he purchased the methamphetamines from Mr. Samruay. So the police arranged to make an undercover “sting” purchase of 60 tablets of amphetamine from Mr. Samruay.

They made an appointment for the drugs to be delivered at the PTT gas station at the Kasempol junction, Plutaluang, Sattahip. Mr. Samruay then drove up in the Honda to deliver the drugs, accompanied by Mr. Atit in the passenger seat. The police then showed their identities to arrest them.

But Mr. Samruay grabbed the .32 calliber pistol and began shooting at the police. The officers began firing back in self defense, and shot Mr. Samruay in his left foot. Police then arrested the pair and seized the drugs, guns and ammunition.

During questioning, Mr. Samruay told police he had been previously convicted and imprisoned three times on drug charges. But after his release, he could not find work, so he went back to selling drugs.

Mr. Samruay mainly sold his drugs to the teenagers in Plutaluang, Sattahip, Chonburi and Banchang Rayong. He bought his meth drugs from a female supplier known as Ms. Maew, aka Maew Samaesarn. Police sent the two suspects to the detective team to prosecute, and will follow up to track down the drug dealer Ms. Maew.
