Another Illicit Loan Gang Caught Red Handed In Pattaya

Pattaya officers have raided a house of an illicit loan gang and confiscated many items after the police were informed by another gang that the police had arrested the day before.

PATTAYA – July 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 21.00 pm Mr.Sakchai Tang-Ho-chief district of Bang Lamung-, Pol.Col.Thammanoon Mankong-superintendent of Nong Prue police station-, Pol.Capt.Kornpong Sukwisit-deputy investigation inspector-, administrative officers and navy soldiers had inspected a loan capitalist’s house in Suan Roongroj village in Na Klua (nearby Pattaya).

Upon inspecting the house they found Mr.Prasert Puttharaksa 33 years old house owner, Mrs.Jaruwan Puttharaksa his 31 year old wife and 5 men who were their money collectors who were sat drinking alcohol. Also the officers found 5 personal computers, loan contracts, customers account books, passbooks, 2 Izuzu cars and 4 motorcycles which the officers confiscated.

 

The officers had inspected Mr Prasert and found out that he had invested 1 million baht which he had loaned out. They had collected 120-125 % interest per month. The 5 men had collected the money from the debtors who were sellers and employees in Pattaya and Mrs Jaruwan was the auditor.

Mr.Sakchai said that the officers had arrested the gang because another gang that was caught the day before revealed to the police that this gang was part of their network. Therefore they had combined forces to raid, arrest and confiscate their belongings at the house. In addition the officers were given more information about other illicit loan gangs and now they will be able to clamp down on them one by one to rid the streets of these roofless criminals.
