An appalling Ya-Ice drug scandal in Pattaya

Son of a famous restaurant owner was arrested for illicit possession of Ya-Ice drugs, even though he denied selling the drugs to teenagers, who were tested positive.

Pattaya, 7th March 2011 [Pattaya Daily News] : At 11.00 pm, Police Captain Wissanu Chaisuwan Deputy Inspector of Pattaya Department, Chonburi and the police squad arrested Mr. Sukonjit Maneenart (a.k.a Ta), aged 31 (resides at 49/69 Moo 19, Nongprue Banglamung Chonburi) at PP massage parlor alley on Sai-Sam Pattaya Rd, Moo 9 Nongprue Banglamung Chonburi. He was arrested for possession of Ya-Ice drugs which were distributed in 2 small plastic bags – 0.55 grams and 0.68 grams. Police also found a modified Yamaha-Fino brown and a white motorcycle with registered number plate – Jor Khor Kor 3510, Chonburi. The suspect is the son of an owner of the famous Sai-Sam Middle Pattaya restaurant.

After investigation, the police suspected that Mr. Sukonjit was a Ya-Ice drug dealer, selling them to innocent teenagers in Pattaya City. The police planned a sting operation and consequently caught the suspect with drugs hidden in the motorcycle. The suspect denied of selling drugs. Instead, he told the police that he purchased drugs from his friend. The police charged Mr. Sukonjit with possession of illegal drugs under Category One.

Furthermore, the police patrolled the surrounding areas of Green Roof Junction, Soi Kor Phai, South Pattaya, searching for suspicious teenagers involved. As the results, 6 teenagers were arrested after being tested positive. Most of these adolescents worked at karaoke bars or as motorcycle drivers.
