Alien Workers Detained By Officials

Public authorities of Amphur Banglamung have raided various construction camps in the Chon Buri area to prevent and suppress human trafficking.

PATTAYA – May 13,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr.Chakhorn Kanjanawatta (Banglamung sheriff, Chon Buri province) had commanded Mr. Jakkaphong Ratchaneekul (Senior Deputy District Chief) together with Mr. Praphan Prathumchomphu (Deputy District Chief and Head of Security Division) and Mr. Phichet Thammahon (Banglamung Deputy District Chief) to mobilize forces of over 100 volunteers from various public authorities to inspect construction camps in area of Tambon Huay Yai, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province. The order was given to prevent and suppress human trafficking and to inspect all the alien workers.


At a camp of the Pre-Built Co.Ltd which is located at no. 35/92 Moo 4 Tambon Huay Yai, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, the officers found over 400 Burmese and Cambodian workers staying there. While the officials were inspecting the camp some of the workers tried to run away into the forest but were eventually caught by the officials.

Upon inspecting the workers the officials found that 30 of the workers did not have their registration cards and claimed that their foremen had kept them.


The officials then detained all of the workers that did not have their registration cards and sent them to Chon Buri Immigration Bureau for further investigation and also took the foreman of the camp to be questioned further. If he is found guilty he will prosecuted according to Thai law.
