AHTD Rescues 6 Laotian Girls From A Human Trafficking Gang

The AHTD (Anti-Human Trafficking Division) were able to arrest 2 members of a human trafficking gang that were reported to have trafficked Laotian girls to Thailand.

BANGKOK – October 6, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At the AHTD’s headquarters, the director of the AHTD had announced the arrest of Ms. Jumrat Juikrajai, aged 38 and Ms. Nam, aged 22, for human trafficking charges.

Police Colonel Panya, the director of AHTD, said that an anti human trafficking organization in Laos had contacted the AHTD to help and rescue Laotian girls that were trafficked to work in Thailand.

The 6 girls that were found in the police raid did not have any documents that would let them stay or yet alone work in Thailand. The two Thai nationals that were in the same house were arrested for human trafficking charges.
