Aging Housekeeper Arrested For Drug Peddling

A 44-year-old housekeeper was arrested for selling amphetamine pills to soldiers at Sattahip marine base. The woman told police she was getting fewer jobs as she got older, and her health was declining, so she resorted to drug dealing for income.

SATTAHIP – October 11, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 2:30 p.m., a report of a middle-aged woman selling methamphetamines at the marine base was received by Vice Admiral Chainarong Jarernrak, the commissioner of Sattahip Naval Base. So he commanded Gp. Capt. Kompan Upalanont, the director of operations and news division, Sattahip Naval Base, as the director of special operations, Sattahip Naval Base Command Operation Center and special forces, to investigate the report.

Investigators followed up a case of a previously arrested private for using meth. The soldier testified that he had bought meth from the suspect. The military police then made a plan to entrap her, and arranged to buy drugs from her to be picked up at her house.
The enforcement officers then encircled her house and arrested her after the drug deal. Military police seized the evidence of 50 meth tablets and 8,000 in baht banknotes used for the entrapment.

The suspect was identified as Mrs. Samnauan Srisukho, or Jae Ueng, age 44, who works as a housekeeper for foreigners, living at house number 167/1 moo1,tuay Yai, Banglamung, Chonburi. Military police charged her with possession of a Type-1 drug for distribution and selling.

After her arrest, Mrs. Samnauan confessed to smuggling meth into the marine camp to sell to soldiers. But for most of her clients, she would make appointments to sell the drugs at her home, because she could sell the amphetamines for 320 to 400 baht per tablet.

Mrs. Samnauan said the reason she began selling drugs was because when she got older, no one hired her to work, and her health was weak. So she resorted to selling drugs within her network of customers for income.
