A Red Cap Robber Deceives Junk Shop Owner

A robber who wore a red cap acted like he had steel to sell but when he took the junk shop owner to see the steel he stopped in a deserted place. He then took out a gun and robbed him of his belongings.

SATTAHIP – March 18, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9.00 a.m.; Mrs. Pon Kaensila, aged 51 and Mr. Surasak Narmphadoong, aged 30, (mother and son), who are the junk shop owners went to notify Pol.Lt. Nonsamat Bosuwan (Investigation officer of Sattahip police station) after Mr. Surasak had been threatened with a gun and robbed in the area of Huay Tu reservoir, Moo 9 Tambon Bang Sarey, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi Province.

Mr. Surasak Narmphadoong said that in the evening of March 17, 2014 while he and his mother were preparing the goods in his junk shop a plump middle age man with dark skin wearing a red cap, a long sleeved navy blue shirt, and black jeans turned up riding a red motorbike. He said that he wanted to sell some steel and he would come to pick up Mr. Surasak to see the steel in the morning. The next morning he came and picked up Mr. Surasak and took him to see the steel at Huay Tu reservoir which was a deserted place and far away from any houses .Suddenly the man took out a Thai homemade shotgun and pointed it at Mr. Surasak’s head then threatened him to take off his gold necklace weight 2 baht and took all his belongings including 3,500 THB and 1 mobile phone. Then the robber told Mr. Surasak to run into the forest otherwise he would shoot and kill him, so Mr. Surasak ran as quickly as possible into the forest and then heard a gunshot. After a short period of time Mr. Surasak saw that the robber had already fled so he hurried out of the forest to ask for assistance.

Pol.Lt. Nonsamat Bosuwan (police on duty who is responsible for this case) said that initially, he had made note in the daily record for evidence and already coordinated with the detective police team to follow up to arrest the robber by inspecting the CCTV footage on the route that the robber rode his motorbike to escape. He then said that the police team will be able to arrest the red cap robber and he will be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
