9 Myanmarese Arrested After Failing To Provide Work Permit

Pattaya Police arrested 9 Myanmarese who were believed to have been illegally working at an Indian Restaurant in South Pattaya. They couldn’t provide the necessary documents to prove that they are permitted to work in Thailand.

PATTAYA – August 1, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pattaya City Police were able to catch 9 Myanmarese workers who were believed to have been illegally working at an Indian Restaurant. When they were brought to the police station, they were not able to provide work permits, confirming that they were illegally working.

The arrested Myanmarese workers claimed that their employer kept their documents, but it turned out that employer couldn’t find any documents to show the police, which led to their arrest.

Pattaya Police will now wait for the employer to find the documents, if he fails to do so, the 9 illegal workers will be sent back to Myanmar.
