71-Year-Old German Barber Kills Himself In Satttahip 

German man aged 71 , ex-barber came to Thailand to find a Thai woman to be his wife but was disappointed with first five "girlfriends" including the last a middle aged Nong Kai woman. So he used a fruit knife to cut his wrists but - but still alive he tied himself to hammock and died with the rope around his neck. Sattahip, December 21, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Lt. Col. Somphol Nakkhamphun,  Plutaluang police station,  Chonburi province was notified that a foreigner had committed suicide in his room at the Baan Nammoa resort, Soi Na Jom Tien 12 Moo 2, Sattahip.

At the scene of the suicide in a single room at the back of the one story  resort the police found the dead body of Mr. Dirks Heinz Jakob Koby age 71. Germany citizen  dressed in a white long sleeve shirt, black shorts on his knees with a rope attached to a hammock. There  were knife wounds on his wrists. The police assumed Mr. Koby had been  dead for approximately 5 hours. The police found the fruit knife that he used to cut  his wrists. There was blood  all over the floor.


Ms. Kamphong Wanthani age 40, his Nong Kai girl friend said that she had stayed with Mr. Koby for more than two  years.  Mr. Koby had five girl friends earlier  but was disappointed with all of them. He said, they cheated him off his money and escaped to stay with their Thai men. He feared that Ms. Kamphong would  run away from him so he committed suicide.

Pol. Lt. Col. Somphol Nakkhamphun, the officer in charge of the case said, that Mr Koby committed suicide  by slashing his wrists and strangling him self with a rope. No foul play was involved. The police sent the dead body to for  post mortem examination in  Bangkok. The  German Embassy and the next of kin will be contacted.
