66-Year-Old Pattaya Garage Owner Kills Neighbor with Shotgun

A 66-year-old garage owner shoots and kills a 43-year-old biker due a quarrel about their pets.

Pattaya, June 7, 2011, (PDN) Pol.Lt.Col. Sane Yodrungreung, Huayyai Police was informed of a deadly shooting at Tungkanue Moo1 Huayyai, Banglamung,Chonburi. The police and rescue team of Sawangboriboon Foundation were rushed to the scene.


At the scene, the police found the body of Mr Suchart Jeampunya, 43, motorbike owner at Jomtien Paradise 205/1 Moo 12 Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. He was shot in the chest with a shotgun. One bullet.

Ms Chichanok Jarusmethanukul, 27, the victim’s girlfriend, reported to the police that she and the victim had rented the house for two years. The suspect was Mr Prasert Rodyu, 66, whose house and garage is next to their house. The victim and the suspect always quarreled about the victim’s dog who often bit the suspect’s duck. As for the shooting, while she and the victim were in their house, their dog was barking because it had been hit by the suspect who had lost his temper as his duck was bit again by the victim’s dog. The victim blamed the suspect and asked him to stop. The suspect shouted to the victim wanting to solve their problem but the victim replied him that he wanted to talk about their problem the next day.

Thereafter, the suspect shot the the victim with a shotgun and fled the scene.


The police searched the suspect’s house and garage without finding him.

The police assumes that the fatal shooting was caused by the conflict between the victim and the suspect regarding their pets.A search warrant has been issued.
