30-year-old Thai woman was hit by a truck while she was on her bicycle

A pickup driver ran through red light and hit a Thai woman died instantly. The victim’s mother said she was coming to see her family on Songkran day.

Pattaya, 17th April 2011. [Pattaya Daily News] At 4.30 p.m. Police Lieutenant Wirat Testong Inspecting Officer of Banglamung Chonburi was notified a fatal accident occurred by a pickup truck hit a motorbike. The accident took place at Train Railway Junction Road (located at Nonghin, Moo.9, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi) The police went to the crime scene with Sawang Somboon rescued team.

At the crime scene, people gathered to witness the incident. The police found a green Yamaha motorbike. (register plate number Kor-Tor-Lor 121, Chonburi) The bike was damaged badly. Next to the bike was a bronze Izusu pickup truck (register plate number Bor-Lor 121, Chonburi) The left front head light and the front view mirror of the vehicle were broken.

The police discovered the body of Miss Kulthinee Sopon, 30 (resided at the house No. 145/1, Moo.7, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi) She was hit by the pickup truck. The driver who apparently was in the shocking state, his name was Mr. Nisit Tongtui, 23. (resides at the house No.55/1, Moo.1, Bangsre, Sattahip, Chonburi) He said that while he was driving to the junction which was on the red light he ran through as he did not notice the traffic light while the victim was riding her motorbike through her lane across the junction.

The victim’s relatives came to see the body. When the police saw many of them came, They brought the suspect to the safe place since they were afraid the suspect might be attacked by the relatives. The victim’s mother, Mrs. Sanong Kaewkranok, 49, said with tears that her daughter called and told her that she was coming home to pay respect her mother on Songkran occasion.

The victim’s body was taken to the Banglamung Hospital and the suspect was detained for further investigation.
