Pattaya, 7 May [Pattaya Daily News]: A loud explosion reportedly heard at Music Studio Pattaya located in Moo 10, Nong Prue. Pattaya Police, Sawang Boriboon Foundation personnel and the fire crews from Pattaya Fire Department hurried to the scene.

A 3-year-old fire victim, Victoria Mary Sulivan (nickname Vicky) was found dead at the scene in Duck Square area, next to Big C, South Pattaya. She was a biracial Thai-American girl.

Her Thai mother, Karnjana Payupat, 26, was taken to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital after suffering from severe burn.

The brother of Karnjana heard his sister’s screaming from her bedroom when he was working at the back of the building, Praipana Payupat, 34 told the police.

He rushed inside the blazing house, broke down the locked door and rescued his sister out of the house, the brother said, adding that when he saw her, she was holding an electrical wire and her body was surrounded in black smoke.

Unfortunately, by the time he returned to the house, he could not save his niece because the fire had intensified, Praipana reported.

Praipana called the police and fire department immediately.

The brother said that the American father had rented the three-room building, two of which was used as music studios and the other for their bedroom.

According to the police’s speculation, electrical fire was a probable cause of explosion.

However forensic scientists will examine the scene in more details to determine the exact cause of fire.

Meanwhile the police will question surrounding witnesses and detain Praipana for further investigation
