3 Snatcher Chased By PolicePattaya police chased after 3 snatchers that snatched a phone out of a Chinese tourists hand as she walked down the street. They were chased and finally arrested after they lost control and crashed.
PATTAYA – April 16,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.00 p.m., Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that there was a snatching incident involving a Chinese tourist’s in front of Mike Shopping Mall , Pattaya 2nd road, Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province. The victim was identified as Miss Ren Mee, aged 34, Chinese nationality. The 3 snatchers rode a red-white Honda Wave motorbike, license no. Kor Wor Tor 47 Nakhon Phanom.
After the incident occurred Pol.Col. Sukthas had radioed to police and volunteer police to hunt for the 3 snatchers along various routes that they might have escaped along. They were then spotted jumping a red light at the south Pattaya intersection and headed towards soi Khao Talo intersection at high speed so the officers chased them before the snatchers lost control and crashed into a car.
The officers arrested 2 of the snatchers at the Khao Talo intersection and were identified as Mr. Anuwat Wongkhamharn, aged 33 and Mr. A (alias), aged 16, with the stolen iPhone 5. The other snatcher was finally arrested nearby and was identified as Mr. Ritthikrai Jingwaja, aged 23.
Later the female Chinese tourist came to identify the thieves and confirmed it was them and got her belongings back. She told that the police that while she was walking to her apartment the 3 snatchers rode alongside her before snatching her phone out of her hand and fled the scene. Initially, the police detained all 3 snatchers and sent them to the inquiry official of Pattaya city police station for further prosecution according to the Thai law.
