3 Rapists Sent to Jail for 100 Years

A judge at Pattaya provincial court sentenced 3 men to jail totalling almost 100years after they were convicted of robbing and rapping 2 Russian women in 2012 Pattaya.

PATTAYA – November 20, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 11.00 a.m. at the courtroom no.5 of Pattaya provincial court, Mr. Kasichol Wongwaichol (the justice of Pattaya provincial court) read the verdict in the case of Mr. Wichean or Bangfee Jaija, aged 36 (the first defendant), Mr. Thongchai or Ko Jandee, aged 21 (the second defendant) and Mr. Anuwat or Kay Wat-orn, aged 33 (the third defendant), who were accused of using a gun to rob and rape 2 Russian women. The Incident occurred at Charknork reservoir Tambon Huay Yai, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province on the night of December 25, 2012.

Pattaya provincial court sentenced the first defendant ; Mr. Wichean or Bangfee to be sent to jail for 41 years, the second defendant ; Mr. Thongchai or Ko to be imprisoned for 21 years 6 months and the third defendant ; Mr. Anuwat or Kay to be imprisoned for 46 years 6 months.

Mr. Aphichart Thepnu (the chief justice of Pattaya provincial court) revealed that this case is reputed all over the world and it has ruined the tourism image of Thailand being a safe place to visit, but the long sentences will prove to tourists that these types of crimes will not be tolerated.
