3 Frenchmen, 2 Thais Busted At Pattaya Drugs Party

Just after midnight on 20th January 2009 3 Frenchmen and 2 Thais were arrested when police raided a drugs party being held at the Bonkai Resort in Pattaya.

At 00.10 am Pol.Col. Boonyasit Wongwai of the Thailand Transnational Crime Unit [TCCU], Chonburi, received reports of the suspected criminal activity and Pol. Lt. Col. Chaidit Punyameunsakul and his police team obtained a warrant to search room no. 22 of the resort located at 154/50-51 Soi Bonkai 2, South Pattaya, Moo.10, Nongprue.

At the ten- room resort, police heard noise coming from the room together with the smell of marijuana. Police asked resort staff to knock on the door and when it was opened, they rushed inside the room with the search warrant.

Inside they found 4 foreign males, a Thai woman and a lady boy. They were shocked to see the police and tried to escape but the police managed to control them all.

The suspects were Mr. Fabrica Enriquez [29], Mr.Guillaume Sanz-Fernandez [39] and Mr.Zaidi Yann-Frank Martial, [36] all French nationals. Their Thai companions were Miss Nooch (alias), (17), and Mr. Jitrapol Wongbaikeaw [19]. On a table, police found 2 big bags of dry marijuana, cigarette paper, a lighter and a set of Yah Ice consuming equipment which were confiscated as evidence. Police also tested the suspects’ urine for drugs, which all proved positive.

According to the police, the three French tourists had recently arrived in Pattaya and had checked into a hotel in South Pattaya. They had met Miss Nooch and Mr. Jitrapol in Walking Street. The two Thais had arranged the marijuana and Yah Ice for them.

The suspects, who denied all charges, were all taken to the police station for further questioning. Police also expect to find the drug dealer(s) connected to this case.
