26 Gamblers Arrested With Cash And Chips Worth Over 300,000 THB

Banglamung sheriff mobilized the forces of the public authorities and Nong Prue police team to raid and arrest gamblers and employees of Thai style gambling den. Almost 100 people were arrested with cash and chips worth over 300,000 THB.

PATTAYA – February 17, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.30 p.m. Mr. Sakchai Taenghor (Banglamung sheriff, Chonburi province) together with the Deputy District Chief had coordinated with Pol.Col. Sutthisak Wanthee (Superintendent of Nong Prue police station) mobilized forces of over 50 public authorities and Nong Prue police with a search warrant from Pattaya provincial court no. Khor30/2557 dated February 17, 2014 to search the house no. 147/3 Little Venice village, Soi Mab 2, Moo 6 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, after the officers were informed that the house was being used as gambling den.

At the incident was a 3-storied luxury house which had a fence all the way round and there were many CCTVs installed in the various point around the house. There was the big size of car park at the back of the house which had lots of cars parked on it. Therefore, the officers blocked off the car park and showed the writ to search inside the house.

The officers found male and female who where gambling. There were also a lot of male and female employees standing waiting to service the gamblers. This gambling den also provided food and drink, also there was a massage service too.
The officers detained all the gamblers and employees which consisted of 34 male and female gamblers and 26 male and female 26 employees also Mr. Panya Jantharangsi, aged 40, who was the host and the house owner. The officers also seized all the gambling equipment, spinning dices Baccara cards chips worth over 100,000 THB and 187,566 THB.

Mr. Sakchai Taenghor (Banglamung sheriff) revealed that previously he had received complaints from local people about the gambling den so he sent in an undercover officer. Once all the evidence had been gathered he asked Pattaya provincial court to issue a search warrant and coordinated with the police of Nong Prue police station to mobilize forces of public authorities and the police team to raid the den.
