On 2 December 2007, at 9pm, Mr. Sonthaya Khumpluem presided over the closing ceremonies of the BANGSAEN THAILAND SPEED FESTIVAL 2007, on the Laem Tan Beach Road track. The racing program determined the champions of Thailand, in various age categories. Thai and foreign racers participated in the race. The youth group, ages six to fifteen, from Thailand, demonstrated particularly strong racing skills.

Mr. Sonthaya declared that all sporting events are valuable to youth. This program has given Thai youth a chance to demonstrate their skills in their chosen sport and, also, boosts Thailand’s image. Moreover, it demonstrates, to foreigners, the superior skills of Thai youth.

Various sports events help youth to use their free time beneficially and to stay away from bad influences, such as drugs. The BANGSAEN THAILAND SPEED FESTIVAL 2007 was highly successful, as there were many foreign racers who had joined the event, which resulted in large amounts of money being spent in the province and the country.

Many foreign racers commented that the racing track was beautiful as it was near the seaside. They commented that the event was well organized and very efficient. Chonburi City anticipates that even more foreigners will participate in the race next time, as the success of this event will be communicated to other foreign racers.
