PATTAYA – February 23, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.00 p.m., Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) had revealed about the progress of the case that Pol.Maj.Gen. Nitiphong Niamnoi (Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police Station) had set detectives and an investigative police team from Chon Buri Provincial Police Station and Pattaya city police station to decentralise and to solve the recent rape on Phratamnak hill because the CCTV’s were out of order.

The police had detained some male teenagers that lived near the crime scene and checked their criminal history. They also set up an identity parade so the victims could pick out the offenders but they didn’t recognise any of the detained teenagers so they were free to go. The patrollers had also inspected the information about a white Honda Wave 125 motorbike which belonged to the victim and was taken by the rapists. The police found approximately 40 motorbikes of the same model in Amphur Banglamung area so the officers targeted groups of male teenagers in area of the crime scene because 1 of the 4 rapists said to Mr. Nat (alias), the victims boyfriend “Have we ever met in Chonburi Juvenile Detention Centre ? Your face is familiar.” Therefore, the police assumed that 1 of the 4 rapists might of just been released from jail.

“Now, we (the police) are trying our best to solve this sick crime as soon as possible. However, Pattaya city police station is offering a 20,000 THB reward to anyone who can give the correct information that leads to the arrest of the rapists ” said Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang.
