2 Rayong Teenagers Arrested After Bag Snatch  

Pattaya police have arrested 2 Rayong teenagers who were riding a motorbike and snatched a handbag off a woman. They claimed that they need money to refill their motorbike with petrol so they could return back to Rayong.

PATTAYA – January 30, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.30 a.m. Pol. Capt. Thanasit Kaenluem (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) was notified by a Miss Noossara Phaijinda, aged 29, she told police that while she was riding as a passenger of a motorbike taxi near Balihai suddenly there were 2 male teenagers riding a orange-grey Honda Wave motorbike who snatched her brown handbag which contained 1 mobile phone and approximately 700 THB. Then they fled the scene quickly.

The police then decentralized to entrap the 2 snatchers. They were then found spotted escaping along route 7 section 5 and entered into the alley behind Nong Yai temple  and were arrested at the beginning of Soi Nong Yai 15.  The 2 defendants were identified as Mr. Nopphorn Kaewthong, aged 19, who was the driver, address 127 Moo 4 Tambon Phajook, Amphur Mueang Uttaradit, Uttaradit province and Mr. Joke (alias), aged 17, who was the passenger, address 127/2 Moo 4 Tambon Phajook, Amphur Mueang Uttaradit, Uttaradit province. They are both university students of a Technical College in Rayong province.  The officers searched in their bodies and found the stolen property. The 2 defendants confessed to snatching the victim’s handbag which they claimed it was the first time they had done it.They also claimed that they wanted to get money to refill with petrol in order to go back to Rayong. 

Miss Noossara (the victim) confirmed to police that the 2 defendants were the thieves. Initially, the police charged the 2 defendants o be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
