2 Pattaya Teenagers Shot – One Died

Two Pattaya teenagers were shot by a rival with a 9 mm. pistol. One killed and the other severely injured. Police believed that they were shot by the gunman who was their "friend".

PATTAYA – March 26, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Lt. Col. Phumphat Namphuttra, Pattaya police station (Dongtarn Curve sub branch) was notified of two teenagers shot by a gunman.The incident occurred in the middle of Soi Wat Boonkanjanaram Soi 5, opposite to Mae La-Or market Moo 12, Banglamung.The police rushed to inspect together with the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team.

At the scene, they found only a pool of blood and the motorbike belonging to the two victims. The rescue officers had already taken them to Banglamung hospital.The police found 11 cartridges caliber 9 mm. belonging to the gunman, the police cartridges as evidence.

Pol. Lt. Col. Krissanat Thanasupphanat, Deputy Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Col. Ratta Prathumkaew, Deputy Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Col. Chitdecha Songhong, Inspector, Pol. Lt. Col. Suppharerk U-phrai, Inspector, together with the detectives inspected the two injured victims at the hospital: Mr. Thanawat Ngaongarm or “Sine” age 16, had several bullet wounds; one on his neck, three on his right leg, face and hip, one in the middle of his back, one below his chest which had penetrated his heart and one on his left thumb.

“Sine” was severely wounded and died after he arrived at the hospital.The other victim was Mr. Suchart Jamsawang or “Rang” age 20, was shot in his right hand and left leg. He survived.Upon investigation Mr. Suchart or “Rang” said that, he rode his motorbike to pick up Mr. Thanawat or “Sine” from his house at 21:00 hrs.Later riding from a friend’s house heading home on Jomtien beach road they were shot by the gunman. Mr. Suchart remembered the face of the gunman.


From asking Ms. Kanyalak Ngaongam age 21, the elder sister of Mr. Thanawat or Sine (the dead victim) said to the police that before her younger brother was shot she saw Mr. Suchart picking up her brother at their house at 21:00 hrs and told that they were going to Thepprasit area. They were gone for a long time until his friend made a phone call to tell that her younger brother was shot and had died at the hospital.

Ms. Kanyalak said that she had asked Mr. Suchart, her younger brother’s friend for the reason of shooting and who shot them. Mr. Suchart said that Mr. Oat Wattharm, their friend had made an appointment to see them and they were shot by Mr. Oat. But Mr. Suchart didn’t tell the cause of the shooting.

From investigating the witnesses at the incident, they said, they saw Mr. Thanawat and Mr. Suchart riding on a motorbike to a quiet Soi and later a white car drove after them. They had parked the car and the motorbike and had talked together before there were many gun shots and then the car drove away.

The locals came to see and found that Mr. Thanawat and Mr. Suchart were shot so they called the police. The police believed that before the incident, Mr. Thanawat and Mr. Suchart had made an appointment with their friend who was the gunman, and was shot after they could not negotiate their problems or illegal businesses.

The police believes that the gunman was Mr. Oat Wattharm, the police will call him in for interrogation. However, the police will investigate Mr. Suchart also, for the motive of the shooting and arrest the gunman to be prosecuted according to the law.
