2 Men Run From Bangkok To Promote Pattaya Marathon

Two male runners decided to run from Yao Warach (China Town)in Bangkok to Pattaya to celebrate and promote the up and coming Pattaya Marathon. They told reports that they did it to be part of the running festival because they won’t be able to take part due to work commitments.

PATTAYA – July 24, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 10.00 am at Pattaya City Hall Pattaya Daily News reporters revealed that runners had run from Yao Warach (China Town), Bangkok to Pattaya . It was publicity student to raise awareness about the Pattaya Marathon which will be held on 27th July. The reporters also revealed that Pattaya TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) had been contacted from Yao Warach (China Town) running club to record the run and make a new record. Therefore the runners which consisted of Mr.Chitsanupong Pudpa aged 31 and Mr.Nattakarn Nakrung aged 32 decided to run from Bangkok on 21st July at 01.30 am and headed towards Pattaya.

 

When they reached Bang Pakong district (81 kilometers from Bangkok), they stopped for a rest before stopping again in Bangsaen (District nearby Pattaya) and had run 115 km . One of them decided to stop while Mr.Mr.Chitsanupong decided to carry on towards Pattaya. When he reached North Pattaya crossroad, Pattaya officers looked after him until he reached the finish at Central Festival Pattaya Beach by which time he had run 159 km in 3 days.

Mr.Chitsanupong revealed that he was inspired when he found out that some people had run 100km therefor he had trained hard before he decided to run from China town to Pattaya. Unfortunately he couldn’t take part in the tournament because he needed to work. He added that he had never run as far as this before. He also hoped that his action could inspire many other runners.

 

On 27th July Pattaya Marathon will start at 03.45 am at Central Festival Pattaya Beach. It’s expected that there will be over 10,000 participants and it will generate about 50 million baht in revenue.
