18 Illegal Female Workers Arrested At Karaoke Shop

Chonburi immigration police have arrested over 18 illegal Vietnamese and Laotian female workers that were caught working illegally as waitresses in a karaoke shop in Amphur Si Racha.

PATTAYA – September 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Chonburi immigration police which led by Pol.Col. Chaiyos Warakjunkiet, Pol.Lt.Col. Ratthaphong Tiasood (Deputy Superintendent), Pol.Capt.Woman Samaporn Chatsakunphanit (Deputy Inspector) and some forces of police team together arrested 10 Vietnamese and 13 Laotian female workers and 2 male workers at Chai Issara karaoke shop at Mueang Mai Tai, Tambon Thoong Sukkhala, Amphur Si Racha, Chonburi province.

 

Pol.Col. Chaiyos revealed that due to the police detective team work they had found out that there were male and female illegal workers who were working as waiters and waitresses that would sit and drink with Thai and foreign customers at a karaoke shop in area of Mueang Mai Tai road. He then mobilized forces of officers to inspect the karaoke shop by planning to let 2 police officers disguised as customers to enter the shop and pose as customers.

 

Upon observing inside the shop the undercover agents noticed that a group of Vietnamese and Laotian waitresses were servicing customers so they gave the signal for the police officers outside to raid the shop. Upon inspecting the workers all the illegal female workers had passports but they did not have work permits. Therefore, initially the police detained them and sent them to an inquiry official of Laem Chabang police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
