17th World-Chinese Amateur Badminton Championship To Be Hosted By Pattaya

TAT announced that the 17th World-Chinese Amateur Badminton Championship has been arranging at Pattaya Athletics Indoor Stadium.

Pattaya, November 19, 2010, [Pattaya Daily News]: The 17th World-Chinese Amateur Badminton Championship, a collaborative effort by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, F.Y.C Badminton Club, and Pattaya City, is to take place from 19-21 November at Pattaya Athletics Indoor Stadium. The announcement was made by TAT to invite interested locals and tourists to both participate and watch.

This tournament had been held every year in China for amateur players aged between 25-80. However,  every three years, a tournament is arranged to take place in another country. This year, the goal is to strengthen the Thai-Chinese relationship, which celebrates its 35th anniversary, using badminton as the medium. It is expected to be an occasion for happiness, rejoicingand friendship between the Chinese people and those from around the world. It was an honour for Thailand to be chosen as the host this year TAT announced.



The Tourism Authority of Thailand expects approximately 2,000 players to join in the tournament, whilst over 5,000 audiences members, many from the players’ families, are likely to attend.
