Saturday 27th September 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: – Nights that fall on weekends generally see some celebrities and business people travel down from Bangkok, to enjoy some rest & relaxation, after the high powered hustle of working in Bangkok. The literally “laid back” atmosphere in North Pattaya’s Minus-5 Ice Bar set the scene for a night of light hearted food, drink and entertainment, with sponsorship by Australian Jacobs Creek wines offering something very special.

After some sampling of the superb “Jacobs Creek” wines everyone quickly got into party mood and they had great fun meeting both new and old friends. The fine international style food served by the Minus-5 Ice Bar restaurant during the evening, was selected to match each type of specially selected Jacob Creek vintage.

Everyone was entertained by Khun Teera Weerawan, who gave an excellent description (in both Thai and English) of both the “Jacobs Creek” wines, and the excellent wine demonstrations both entertained & informed the guests throughout the evening. Khun Teera showed the difference in taste in exactly the same wine aged in either a stainless steel or wooden oak barrel, and other skills included the proper pouring of champagne without having it run down the glass, plus tips on opening wine bottles.

The Jacobs Creek Winery was founded well over a century ago in South Australia by European wine maker Johan Grant, and over the years has gained the reputation as being one of the foremost wines in Australia. In 1975 the International company Group of “Pernod Ricard” bought out Jacobs Creek, but the fine traditions carry on, with master wine maker Mr. Phillip Laffer stating, – “It is our aim to make good quality, contemporary wines that people can afford to drink every day;” – This is a winning concept, because over 2-million bottles of Jacobs Creek consistently high quality wines are consumed daily around the world.

Keep checking out the upcoming future events at north Pattaya’s Minus-5 Ice bar, as there is sure to be something that will capture your imagination for a night of friendly, fun filled entertainment.
